Enjoy a coffee morning at Braxted Park raising money for Farleigh Hospice

Braxted Park is proud to announce that they are holding a fundraising event, inviting the public to an enjoyable coffee morning, in aid of raising money for Farleigh Hospice.

The coffee morning will be held at the elegant Georgian mansion set within 500 acres of beautiful parkland and lakes in the heart of the Essex countryside. The event will take place in the beautifully restored open gardens of Braxted Park, on Sunday 29 March from 11am till 2pm. Farleigh Hospice, based in Chelmsford, Essex, cares for individuals and families that have been touched and affected by cancer, or other life limiting illnesses. They provide an excellent care service at a very difficult time, often when it can feel that nothing may be the same again. They recognise that each patient has an individual need and the Hospice’s great services are designed to enrich the lives of their patients and those close to them.

The event will be held in memory of Harry Hicks, who sadly passed away after being an integral part of the Braxted Park team for 30 years. Duncan Clark, owner of Braxted Park says ‘Harry was a much loved and valued part of our team and will be sorely missed. We wanted to do something to honour Harry’s memory and hosting this coffee morning is the perfect way to raise money for a very important cause which is very close to our hearts. Harry’s wife Janet is leading the arrangements for the event.’

Vannessa Adams, Community Fundraising Assistant for Farleigh Hospice said, ‘At any one time Farleigh Hospice is providing care, totally free of charge, to around 1,100 local people touched by cancer and other life-limiting illnesses. To fund this care, the charity depends on the generosity of local people fundraising, through events such as open gardens, making donations and leaving gifts in their wills.

As the need for hospice services continues to grow each year, Farleigh Hospice depends on this help and generosity now more than ever, so for that we would like to thank Braxted Park. We would really like to encourage more people in the community to hold open gardens this year in order to continue this great support.’

The admission fee is £5.00 and the event is open to anyone that wants to contribute in some way to the fantastic work and support that Farleigh Hospice offer.
